The Rev. Angus Bethune, A.M., was the eldest son of the Rev. John Bethune, minister of Glenshiel 1730-1781, and his wife, Christian (Macleod) Bethune.
Angus graduated from the University and King's College in Aberdeen on 2 Apr 1764, and went on to study at Edinburgh. He was licensed by the Presbytery of Gairloch on 8 Oct 1766, and ordained to Harris on 23 Aug 1768. He was transferred to Alness on 25 Jul 1771 and admitted on 25 Sep. He got a new church built at Alness in 1780.
For some time, he served as Chaplain of the 71st Foot.

The Rev. Edward Monro was educated at Harrow and entered Oriel College, Oxford, in 1833, where he graduated B.A., Third Class, on 9 Jun 1836, and M.A. on 14 Jun 1839.
He entered into Holy Orders and was ordained in 1837 and 1839. He was appointed to the Perpetual Curacy of Harrow-Weald, Middlesex, in 1842, and remained there until 1860. In that year, he was promoted to the vicarage of St. John's, Leeds, where he continued until his death in 1866.
He was Select Preacher to the University of Oxford in 1852. He was the author of several religious publications, sermons, allegories, and lectures on various subjects.
Edward was celebrated for his extempore preaching, lecturing, and mission work among the masses, and he possessed a peculiar power in influencing the poor and the young. His memory was most affectionately cherished by his parishioners, both at Harrow-Weald and at Leeds, as well as by many of the leading minds in England. John Keble's essay on his "Parochial Work," fully establishes his remarkable powers and attainments.
His zeal and work among his people were commemorated by a stained glass window placed in the church at Harrow-Weald.

The Rev. George Watson, M.A. was successively minister of Kiltearn and Inverness and served for several years as the Caplain of the 42nd Highlanders, Black Watch. His brother-in-law, Sir Hector Munro was Colonel of the regiment.

The Robert Munroe family which farmed in Fulton County is recorded on Page 57 (Line 26) in the Broadalbin section of the 1845 State Census of New York. There were nine members of the family - five males and four females. There were two
unmarried females (Margaret and Analisa) between the ages of 16 and 45. Seven family members (all the children) had been born in the State of New York. Two of the children (Charles and Alexander) were between the ages of five and 16. Four of the children were attending common school.
The family is recorded on Page 30 (Bldg. #436, Family #493) of the Broadalbin section of the 1850 US Census of New York. Robert's wife, John, and the unidentified female child are not recorded.
The family is recorded on Page 65 (Line 31) of the Broadalbin section of the 1855 State Census of New York. Analisa and Charles were no longer living with the family.
The family is recorded on Page 6 (Lines 14 - 21) of the Broadalbin section of the 1860 US Census of New York. Robert and Alexander are married with families of their own, and have homes adjacent to one another. Robert, the father, is living
with his son, Robert. Margaret is no longer living with the family.
The family of Robert the son is recorded on Page 59 (Line 7) of the Broadalbin section of the 1865 State Census of New York. The senior Robert had died in August 1864. Alexander and his family no longer live next to his brother Robert.
No records were found on this family in subsequent censuses or other documents of Fulton County.

Married (1) only daughter of Alexander Munro of Teanoird. She died before 21 June 1723 and he married (2) Ann Bethune of Cilnaskea, widow of Rev. John Bain, minister of Dingwall.

John's name frequently appears in the Session records of Kiltearn, and in the Presbytery records of Dingwall. On 20 Feb 1710, the Session appointed him an "informer" to report to them regarding the behavior of the people in his district.
On 7 Sep 1725, he was appointed, along with Colonel Robert Munro of Fowlis, George Munro of Limlair, and David Bethune of Culnaskea, to attend the next meeting of the Synod of Ross and Sutherland, and prosecute a call given by the parishioners of Kiltearn to the Rev. John Balfour, minister of Logie-Easter.

At a meeting of the Privy Council held on the 27th of March, 1612, a commission under the Signet is granted to Robert Munro of Fowlis, Alexander Gordon, brother to John Earl of Sutherland, John Munro of Limlair, George Munro of Tarlogie, and Andrew Munro of Novar, to convocate the lieges for the apprehension of two men charged with stealing "a fair dun ox of six year old" from George Munro of Tarrell, and bringing the alleged thieves before the Council to be delivered to the Justice for trial.
