The Munro reference says John was born in "Rehoboth, Bristol Co., MA/RI".
The name of John's wife may have been Bethany Cornell. One reference says they married on 20 Jun 1782, and he may have had an earlier marriage. Parthenia was the daughter of Gideon and Hepzibah (Lewis) Cornell.
John served in the Revolutionary War from Rehoboth, Massachusetts 1 May 1778 to 1 Jan 1779 in Captain Jacob Fuller's Company, Colonel John Jacob's Regiment in Rhode Island.
He moved to Plainfield, Connecticut where he was a member of the Legislature. He became a Quaker after the war.
At his death, his estate was worth $417.55 but he may have given away much to his children before that. His wife's will was proved in 1835. She left $1 each to her sons Job and Cornell, $130 to Samuel and the rest to her daughters.

The name on Ada's birth certificate is Aedna Inez Monroe. At the top of the birth certificate is written in cursive "Edna". Ada is her maternal grandmother's name and is believed to be the name her parents intended.
At the time of Ada's birth, her father had been released or resigned as pastor of the local Baptist Church. He had made a pact with the church when he was called as pastor that they would share the produce from their farms or livelihood with his family. As the depression deepened, the produce reduced to an unsustainable amount.
Ada was born prematurely and lived only two days. Her mother had to dress her for the funeral and her father helped construct the casket of saw mill slats (pieces of material left over as a log was sawed into lumber.) The grave filled with water from rain, making it necessary for the casket to be weighted in order for it to go to the bottom of the grave before the grave could be filled in. Her father preached the funeral sermon or eulogy.

The notes of Nancy Munro that were taken when Nancy was talking to Eleanor McKay Pucher on 24 June 1981, list the following children of Jessie Munro and George McKay: Annie (married Mr. Budge), George, Janet, James, Margaret, Alexander, Wilhelmina, Charlie, and the youngest, Eleanor. Further Nancy notes, that James, Margaret, Wilhelmina, and Charlie all died of tuberculosis. The list given by Eleanor McKay Pucher conflicts with that given by Ina Donaldson.
A Social Security Death index search (October 1995 edition) yielded the following information: Eleanor Pucher, social security no. 043-26-3822(CT), b. 29 Apr 1897, d. 05 February 1989, lr. 45505 (Springfield, Clark, OH), note, lr. mabe means last or legal residence. Springfield, OH is the home of Eleanor's daughter, Janet Pucher Sanders.
More information about Eleanor McKay Pucher comes from notes of Nancy Munro that were taken when Nancy was talking to Eleanor McKay Pucher on 24 Jun 1981. Eleanor was a stenographer in New Haven, CT at Clark, Hall and Peck. She lived at 103 Haverford Street in Hamden, CT, a white colonial style home with 8 rooms.
