    James married the daughter of John Henry and Mary C. (Adams) Allan.

    BIOGRAPHY: Ina Donaldson remembers that James and his brother, Charles, returned to home in Scotland from the USA. They came with their wives. From some notes provided by Jamesina Donaldson (of Mosstodloch, Moray) in a letter dated 3 December, 1997 to Margaret Price.

    DEATH: Certificate of Death, Bureau of Vital Statistics, Hartford, CT, copy 19, dated July 2, 1956. James Allan Munro Sr., SSN 044-12-3406, Died July 1, 1956, at Grand View Manor Convalescent Hospital, Hamden, New Haven Co., CT., age 89 years. His usual residence was 507 Whitney Ave., New Haven, CT. He was born 19 September 1866, at Grange, Scotland, his usual occupation was real estate and insurance. He was not a veteran. His father was William Munro, born in Scotland; and his mother was unknown by James A. Munro Jr., informant. The maiden name of his wife was Lida Allen. The disease or condition directly leading to death was cerebral thrombosis and embolus with 40 days interval between onset and death. Antecedent cause was 10 years of generalized arterio sclerosis. No autopsy. Signed by Sam B. Kirby, M.D. who attended James from April 1947 until death.

    Lida was the daughter of John Henry and Mary C. (Adams) Allen.

    COURT: In the Sussex County Orphans Court records we found the Guardian Accounts of Effie M. Allen, John E. Allen, Eliza C. Allen, Minor, daughter of John H. Allen. The first account for Eliza C. Allen, filed March 10th, 1885, shows capital of $38.56 and a balance income of $9.97. The second account for Lida C. Allen, filed April 14th, A.D. 1887 shows capital of $38.56 and overpaid income of $1.93. The second account includes an entry for Nov. 11 1885: To paid Minor to help pay her way to Philadelphia, $5.00. The third and final account for Lida C. Allen, was presented, examined, adjusted, and settled, August 26 A.D. 1889 and shows capital of $336.95 and a balance income in hand of $59.47. It appears that Lida C. Allen was known as Eliza C. Allen when she was young.

Lida Catherine Munro, SSN 040-32-2460, Died July 11, 1958, at Grand View Manor Convalescent Hospital, Hamden, New Haven Co., CT., age 91 years. Her usual residence was 507 Whitney Ave., New Haven, CT. She was born 11 November 1866, at Sussex Co., DE; her usual occupation was housewife. She was not a veteran. Her father was John Allen, birthplace unobtainable; and her mother was Mary C. Adams, birthplace unobtainable by James A. Munro Jr., informant. The name of her deceased husband was James Allan Munro Sr. The immediate cause of death was carcinoma of breast metastases to lung with 1 year interval between onset and death. Surgery relevant to death was simple breast amputation performed December 1957. No autopsy. Signed by Sam B. Kirby, M.D. who attended Lida from April until death.
