| 6. | Grafton Munroe was born on 5 Aug 1863 in Of, Springfield, Illinois (son of James Munroe and Matilda Rebecca Walters); died on 7 May 1930. Notes:
Grafton graduated from St. John's College in 1882 with two academic degrees, and from the University of Pennsylvania with a DDS. He set up his dental practice in Springfield, Illinois, and in 1890, he and Betty Brown were married there. After fifteen years of general practice, he became one of the ten charter members of the American Association of Orthodontists.

| 12. | James Munroe was born on 24 Sep 1827 in Annapolis, Anne Arundel Co., Maryland, USA (son of Grafton Munroe and Mary Anne Edwards); died on 28 Sep 1896 in Annapolis, Anne Arundel Co., Maryland, USA. Notes:
It is believed that James graduated from St. John's College.
When he was still quite young, he served as a county commissioner of Anne Arundel County. He was elected Mayor of Annapolis in 1871 and again in 1873, serving 4 years. He was the first Republican mayor of Annapolis since the Civil War.
For 25 years, he served as superintendent of the First Methodist Church Sunday School and as a trustee and recording steward and treasurer of that church. At one time he was said to have been in business longer than any other merchant in Annapolis. He was in the dry goods trade for 47 consecutive years. He also was a long time member of the Board of Visitors and Governors of St. John's College. (Baltimore Sun, 29 Sep 1896)
When James suffered a stroke in about 1886, his son, Frank, quit law school in Baltimore and came home to manage the store.
