“On the off chance, we had school records or an obituary, I re-searched our catalog using several different spellings. There is a William Ober genealogy by Larry Wert from November 1, 2002. It is the direct descendants of William Ober starting in the mid-1600's. Digging further, I was able to find Joseph Monroe Ober born 7 October 1771 in Bluehill Maine and died 7 May 1840 in Tremont, Maine (on Mount Desert Island). Joseph had several sons, one named Joseph Monroe Ober, Jr., born 11 Feb 1805 in Tremont (no date of death). Joseph, Jr. married Trifosa Day and had twins on 26 November 1826 - John D. Ober and Mary Ober (no middle name). Mary married Harrison Fog on 9 January 1845 in Newport, Maine. She later married Lewis Robbins on 14 July 1871 in Bucksport, Maine†|
