      The following is a transcription of RW "Billy" Munro's genealogy notes:

      Alexander McGrigor «u»alias«/u» Munro, SSPCK Schoolmaster at Fort Augustus, aged 40 years in 1755, salary £14 sterling.«b»; «/b»demitted 1758; according«b» t«/b»o Governor Trapaud, neglected school and he and wife (spinning mistress) behaved badly ; she was dismissed, Munro left (without informing kirk session to whom he was clerk, taking minister with him); kept a public house; also said to have falsified list of scholars at Trustees for Manufacturers working schools; paid for interim work at Rainings School, Inverness. Same as Glenelg innkeeper - Munro (1773) came from Fort Augustus (Boswell etc).
