| 1. |  John Dustan Munro was born in 1851 in Rothiemay, Banffshire, , Scotland; and died. Notes:
BIOGRAPHY-OCCUPATION: John Dustan Munro was the younger brother of William Munro and was the first Munro to emigrate to the USA. John Dustan Munro then asked his nephew, John Munro (1862-1925), to follow him. His other nephews, brothers of John Munro, followed, one after the other, with George being the last to go. Ina Donaldson remembers that James and his brother, Charles, returned to home in Scotland from the USA. John Dustan Munro accompanied Charles on one of his trips. From some notes provided by Jamesina Donaldson (of Mosstodloch, Moray) in a letter dated 3 December, 1997 to Margaret Price. James A. Munro Jr. in his letter of 24 January 1997, relates the following: James A. Munro Sr. went to Scotland once with his uncle, John Distan Munro, who lived in Philadelphia, was in the real estate business there, was married to Aunt Becky and they had 3 girls, Anita, Ethel and Jessie.

SOURCE: Ina Donaldson says in her letter of 3 January 1990, that Grandfather Munro's mother's name was Dustan and that John Munro was a brother of Grandfather William. Also she mentions Ethel. James A. Munro's notes list Ethel as a daughter of John Dustan Munro and "Rebecca".

James A. Munro Jr. notes list Jessie as a daughter of John Dustan Munro and "Rebecca". He also notes that Jessie married Richard Thompson, adopted Louise and Jim.
Alan Cleave Bennett, in his July 1997 Report, to Neva and Jim Munro, says that Jessie Munro Thompson and Dick lived in Germantown, PA and had a summer home in Ocean City, NJ. Their next door neighbors were the Jack Kellys (Princess Grace Kelly family.) Jack Kelly Jr. and Jessie and Dick Thompson's adopted son, Jim, were on the Ocean City Beach Patrol together.
