    When Jesse was on his deathbed, his wife looked after him nearly day and night. when he finally passed away, she was so exhausted that she mistakenly said that his father's name was Jesse instead of Andrew. This information was put on his death certificate, and has caused some problems for members of the family applying for membership in the Daughters of the American Refolution.
