Waverley hydropathic, Melrose 1868; returned to Forres; author of "Aberdeen Water-Cure Journal (1859-60), "Handbook of Hydropathy", (1878); went to Bishops Teignton, Devon, 1881, died there January 1883 having married Agnes Begg with issue - Alexander Begg (1846-94),
