    Notes:

The following biography was written by Wallis Jason Manrow in 2006:

"As a child I went to a country school a short ways from my home. I worked on my father's farm and enjoyed going trapping.

Ruth VanDusen Tanner is my first cousin. My father, Wilbur Manrow and her mother, Elizabeth Manrow VanDusen were brother and sister. Ruth was on the Planning Board for Munro Clan USA. She told me that I should attend high school as I didn't want to go. She ahd a great way of encouraging me to do this.

When I was in high school I learned many things which I was able to use later on. I also met my wife-to-be, Mildred (Billy) Forbes. After graduation we got married and started farming.

Later I went to work in my father's John Deere business, "Manrow and Bobbett" as a mechanic. In 1940 the Bobbetts started a John Deere business in Skaneateles, NY and my father, Wilbur continued the John Deere business in Auburn, NY. In 1956 my father handed over the business to me and my wife, Mildred (Billy). We retired in 1963.

After retiring, my wife worked at Dunn & McCarthy's in Auburn, NY and at other jobs later on. I worked at other businesses also until about 2000. Since then I have been keeping busy at various chores and interests. I am now 93 years old (2006)."

Wallis married Mildred Forbes on 8 Sep 1934 in Auburn, Cayuga Co., New York, USA. Mildred was born on 18 Oct 1913 in Weedsport, Cayuga Co., New York, USA; died on 7 Apr 2000 in Auburn, Cayuga Co., New York, USA. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
