    On Mary's grave stone it says she died 8 Nov 1760 at the age of 85, which places her birth in about 1675. Ref. (1) says 1685 and other sources say 1684, 1685 or 1677.

    Captain Bennett Munro lived for sometime at the Munro place on the corner of Hope and Franklin Streets, Bristol, Rhode Island, but for the greater part of his life, he lived on the Mt. Hope Farm (now Church's) then owned by Isaac Royal of Boston. Royal was a Tory and his property was confiscated in the Revolution and purchased from the state by Gov. Bradford.

    Bennett was Vestryman at St. Michaels Church, Bristol, Rhode Island. He was the second of six generations to hold that position.

    Ref (3) says that all of Bennett's children came from his first marriage to Sarah Bosworth, but Ref (2) says Bosworth died in 1754.

    Mary may have married three times, but two of her marriages occured in the same year (1736) and it is possible that one of the two marriages in that year (probably the one to John Ingraham) was only an intention to marry and the marriage to John may not have actually taken place.

    Error alert: Some references say that Mary was the daughter of Joseph Munro and Mary Bowerman. It appears that in 1715, two people named Mary Munro were born in Bristol, Rhode Island. If so, these two people get confused in different references. I don't know which version is correct. [Ed.]

    Joseph was the 5th child of Benjamin. He left home at an early age. He is said to have died at sea soon after his marriage to Phebe.

    Error alert: According to the dates given in references, there are only 111 years between the birth of Joseph's birth and that of his grandmother. This leaves an average of 55.5 years each for the two generations preceeding Joseph. Such a thing is possible, but unlikely.
