Generation: 1
1. | Benjamin Munroe was born on 21 Jun 1723 in Weston, Middlesex Co., Massachusetts, USA; died on 23 Mar 1804 in Lincoln, Middlesex Co., Massachusetts, USA. Notes:
Benjamin's father receved grants of land in Livermore, Maine for his service as a soldier. His father died in 1766 and the lots were not drawn until Sep and Oct of 1772, so Benjamin, Jr. drew his father's lots by claiming his rights as his father's heir. Benjamin drew lots 39, 92, 102 and 33. He gave one lot each to his sons John, Abel, Abijah, and Isaac.
Benjamin and his wife Mary lived in Lincoln, Massachusetts.

6. | Abijah Munroe (1.Benjamin1) was born on 10 Jan 1755 in Lincoln, Middlesex Co., Massachusetts, USA; died in 1823. Notes:
Abijah lived on lot no. 47 on the south-east part of Bartlett's Corner. The house stood on the east side of the road, about half way between Bartlett's Corner and where the present house stands. It was called a tavern and maintained as such by Abijah as long as he lived. In 1833 it was taken down and moved to the "Intervale," and became a part of the house owned by Myron A. Eames.
Abijah had no children. He and his wife are buried in the yard near Robert H. Boothby's. Rev. Paul Coffin in his diary of 30 Aug 1798, speaks of stopping with him and adds that Munro and his wife were "sensible and agreeable." No doubt that Coffin esteemed them such, for they joined him in criticising the Baptists which, at that time, were becoming the most numerous and powerful religious society in town. Abijah and his brothers, John, and Abel, were strong Methodists and Ira Thompson Monroe well remembers hearing Uncle Abel "Exhort," after the regular sermon at the old church at Livermore Centre.
