Henrietta was the daughter of Rev. Perez and Nancy (Ayer) Mason. Rev. Mason was a Republican and a Methodist Episcopal Minister living in Boston, Massachusetts.

Henrietta married Merrick Adams Munroe on 2 Nov 1869 in Boston, Suffolk Co., Massachusetts, USA. Merrick (son of Jonas Munroe and Eliza Sargent) was born on 27 Feb 1828 in Rindge, Cheshire Co., New Hampshire, USA; died on 12 Dec 1911 in Middlebury, Addison Co., Vermont, USA. Notes:

Theodore attended the graded schools in Middlebury, Vermont and afterwards Middlebury College for four years, class of 1898. He was in general business for four years in Boston, as manager for a large New York Corporation. He became assistant superintendant of the Rutland Railroad for the purpose of extending the road from Burlington to Rouse's Point. He then went to Hartford, Connecticut, where he organized the Hartford Securities Corporation on 17 Aug 1904, of which he was president and treasurer. He was a Republican in politics.

Notes:

Charles graduated from Middlebury College in his home town and from Northwestern University law school. He began his business career in Chicago in 1897 as a lawyer.

He became identified with water power development along the Des Plaines River in 1902, and was an executive of the Illinois Valley Gas and Electric Company.

From 1919 to 1924, he was vice president of the Peoples Gas Light and Coke company, and also a vice president of the Public Service Company of Northern Illinois. During this time he was president of the American Gas Association.

In 1924, Charles acquired control of the Laclede Gas Light Company of St. Louis and was its chairman until 1927. He later became president of the W. A. Harriman Securities Corporation, Northern Utilities Company, North Central Gas Company, and Columbia Oil and Gasoline Company. He was director and executive committee member of Columbia Gas and Electric Company.

He was also a director of the Illinois Central Railroad, Yazoo and Mississippi Railroad, the Chicago, St. Louis, and New Orleans Railroad Company, American National Bank in Winter Haven, Florida, and Broadway National Bank in Tampa, Florida.

He was a trustee of Middlebury College and formerly was a trustee of the Chicago Historical Society. He gave buildings to Middlebury and also the the Choate School, Wallingford, Connecticut.

He owned estates in Nassau, Bahama Islands and the French Riviera.
