    John was the last of his family to hold the estate of Milntown of Alness, which later became part of Teaninich.

    He served for many years as Commissary Depute of Inverness, where he lived.

    This might be the same person as John [60033].

    Alexander succeeded his father as Commissary Depute of Inverness. He is said to have been a man of great ability.
