    John accompanied his chief to the German wars, where he died of a "burning fever." Colonel Robert Munro wrote of him, saying that he was "alive without fear before his enemy, and of a merry and quick disposition...He lived virtuously and died with far more credit than if he had died at home."

    Ref 1 says Hector was illegitamate, but ref 2 seems to indicate that he was not.

    Hector accompanied his uncle, Robert, to the German wars, where he rose to the rank of Lieutenant. He was known as a "stout and valorous gentleman." He died of a "languish-ague in Vertenberg, being much lamented by his comerades and friends." He was not married.

    Major Charles Munro was a member of the Alsace Regiment and commanded the second of two Battalions of Burgundy in the abortive expedition of Mar 1708, which sailed from Dunkirk under Admiral Fourbin for the purpose of exciting an insurrection in Scotland in favor of James VIII, known as the Chevalier. Nothing more is known of him or his descendants. Ref 1 says he commanded two battalions.
