Notes |
- Robert was a loyal subject of King David I, and King Malcolm IV of Scotland. He assisted King Malcolm in his wars against his "unnatural subjects."
Family tradition says that Robert married Agnes, daughter of Angus Mor Macdonald IV, Lord of the Isles, but this is impossible as Angus Macdonald lived at least a century later. This is another hint that the dates in the early Munro history are set too far back in time. R.W. Munro believed that Robert was "more or less mythical".
Robert was buried in the Chanonry of Ross, which continued to be the family burying place for more than four hundred years.
