- On the 1790 census of York, South Carolina is found a David "Morow". The given names, ages and sexes of his children are a perfect match for David's. The person who wrote "Morow" may have simply left out the N.
There is a land record in Spartenburg, South Carolina, dated 1798 that refers to a David Monroe.
His wife may have been the Elizabeth who appears on the 1810 census in Spartanburg as a head of household with two males under 10 and one male 16-26 years old, in which case, William C. (b. about 1802) would be one of the males under ten.
