| Notes |
- Adoniram enlisted as a private in Company A, 183rd Regiment, Ohio Infantry Volunteers. He was promoted to corporal, wounded in Franklin, Tennessee, and was honorably discharged at the close of the American Civil War. Later he was admitted to the Bar at the age of sixty years.
