  Sarah was the daughter of Thomas and Anne Hooper, Massachusetts pre-loyalist settlers of the township of Annapolis. Sarah and Henry married soon after Henry arrived in Annapolis as one of the grantees in the grants of 1759 and 1765. She had previously been married to Ben Rumsey and already had children. When Henry died suddenly, he left Sarah with a large family and no means of support. She wrote to Henry's elder brother, Sir George Munro of Cromerty, informing him of her condition. Sir George ordered his London agent to send Sarah forty pounds annually for the support and education of his nieces and nephews until they reached their majority or their mother remarried. Eventually, Sarah made her home with her daughter, Sally Craeb. She is said to have been a very intelligent woman who lived to be quite old. References: (1) "The Monroe Book" by Dr. Joan S.
