- This is probably the John Munroe listes as a laborer in Boston, Massachusetts directories from 1839 to 1848, living on Tileston Street or place. He was still alive on 4 Nov 1876 when he was mentioned in the will of his brother, Abel B. Munroe. He may be the John Munroe whose son, James L. Munroe, died at Chelsea on 1 Feb 1856. James' death record says he was in the provisions business and was the son of John and Mary Munroe.
All of the children listed for John and Mary are unproven. There is reason to believe they belong in this family.
