- In 1835 the family moved to Pittsford, Michigan, then to Branch County in 1844 and to Ottawa County in 1862.
He was an avid Christian worker and was instrumental in the organizing of many of the Baptist churches in southern and western Michigan.
He has many descendants in Branch, Ottawa, Eaton, Clinton, and Grand Traverse Counties.
