Notes |
- Joseph and his wife, Hannah, were cousins. They were married by their uncle, John Welch, justice of the peace.
About 1798, Joseph settled in Chenango County, New York. He moved to Warren County, Pennsylvania about 1823, where he served as justice of the peace from 1828 to 1832.
Joseph served as Sergeant Major in the 27th regiment of the New York Militia in the War of 1812, from 12 Sep until 19 Nov 1814, when he was honorably discharged.
