  • Notes
    • Daniel was a clock maker in Concord and Boston, Massachusetts. He was an apprentice to Simon Willard for 7 years. In 1796 he received a recommendation which stated that he was "one of the best workmen in America."

He made clocks chiefly for the Boston market with fluctuating success from 1796 to 1858 under the name Clocks At Work. He made the Massachusetts Shelf Clock (illustrated in Moore), the Banjo Clocks and others.

In 1800-1807, his brother, Nathaniel was with him. In 1807, he was with Ezekiel Jones in Boston, and in 1809, he was working alone at 50 Newbury Street.

He continued at the bench till he retired at age 83 in 1858.

His wife was from Lincoln, Massachusetts.
