Notes |
- Harris was a private in the War of 1812 in the Company of Captain Samuel Child, Jr.
When Harris moved to Dedham, Massachusetts, James Monroe was President of the United States and as the Lexington Family was otherwise unrepresented in the neighborhood, it was natural for the townspeople to adopt, and for Harris Munroe to change the spelling of his name to conform to that of the President.
Ref: Lexington Munroes, 2nd ed. 11-10/5-10/
Mackenzie says Harris was not married.
