- Abel settled on lot 48 just west of John's and adjoining Sander's or Bartlett's Corner. There he built a house, but later erected buildings on top of the hill. Not far from the southeast corner of this farm, could be seen the stone fireplace that Nathan Bartlett built and used when he by night watched a coalpit, the charcoal of which he used on the forge of his blacksmith shop.
