| Notes |
- William served as a soldier in the Revolutionary War. In order to secure his pension, he requested his neighbor, General John C. Hunter, to certify his service. General Hunter's letter confirmed his service and also mentioned that William had raised eight children.
In 1850, William was a farmer with $3500 in property living with his family in Washington, Ohio.
It is quite possible that this record is a composite of two individuals. Guilford says William was born about 1776.
