    • Lydia was a graduate of Mt. Holyoke College, last class before it became a college, in Greek, Latin and German. She also taught the deaf at Lexington Avenue School for the Deaf in New York City.

      In 1900, she had the remains of her great-grandfather, Dr. Thomas Monro [144], brought from Stonington, Connecticut and buried in her family lot in Juniper Hill Cemetery, in Bristol, Rhode Island.

      She retired in 1911. She was unmarried.
