- George lived in Howell, Michigan. One reference says George's wife, Sarah died in May 1874 and that her name was Sarah C. Boothby. She was the daughter of N. S. and Martha (Temple) Boothby.
He was a farmer in Ingham County and belonged to the Baptist Church. He died of a cerebral hemorrhage at the age of 80.
George's second wife was Mary Bird (or Maria) Purchase.
