- Ian served as a Lieutenant in the Gren. Guards. He also served in King's African Rifles in British Eash Africa 1914-19 (despatches twice).
He married his cousin, Morna Violet Munro the daughter of Sir Hugh Thomas Munro, 4th Baronet of Lindertis. They lived in Drumfork, Blacklumans, co. Perth; Rhinefield, Brockenhurst, Hants.
