«i»Lemuel Monroe had a brother named Abraham. Abraham and his wife Priscilla (Utley) Monroe had two sons, Nelson and Henry who settled in Cleveland, Ohio. Nelson Monroe and Mary E. (Luther) Monroe had a merchantile business for nearly 30 years that extended outside of the city and even the state. They had several children who died young. However, they had a daughter "KeoKee" who lived to be 17. It has been said that a beautiful statue marks her grave in the Woodland cemetery, inscribed "She blooms in the field of night." The statue of the marble figure, said to be the likeness of a beautiful young girl sleeping beneath it, was made in Italy. It was enclosed in glass for protection, and it was said to attracted much attention.«/i»
