      The following is a transcription of RW Munro's genealogy notes:

      [Alexander Munro] «i»Surgeon, Garrison of Inverness at Fort George, 24 February 1750 and 27 October 1760; resigned 22 August 1788, suc. by James Roy; 'Dr. Alexander Munro, Surgeon' staff officer of H.M. Garrison at Fort George, ?[1 January 1799]; later called 'Surgeon to the Northern Forts' (1824). M. Margaret, dr of William King of Newmill, Elgin (d.1764); Margaret, widow of Alexander Munro, Staff Surgeon, Fort George, served heir 9 March 1811 to brother Joseph King (d. 1809) of Newmill, Over & Nether Panns, etc., in parishes of Elgin & St. Andrew; She, b. 1735, d. 22 May 1819, leaving a 'mortification'. Alexander's great-nephew Alexander MacIver, Liberty County, Georgia, was served heir of provision under his second deed of settlement dated 24 October 1793 (Inverness inquest, 28 February 1824).

      Error alert: R.W. Munro card 195 says Margaret inherited Over & Nether Panns from her brother, Joseph, and card 205 says she inherited the property from har father, Joseph.
