[Andrew Monro] «i»Eldest son of George Monro of Milntown & Docharty (died 1576) and Janet Fraser, a zealous Presbyterian and one of young King James' party, chamberlain of Earldom of Ross, "sold office of chief 'mair' 1600 to K. Mackenzie; Captain of castles of Inverness & Chanonry; involved in dispute with Mackenzie etc c 1593 (Ross) died c 1590 (died 25 December, 1611 Calender of Fearn) having married Catherine Urquhart of Cromarty (died 1610) with issue: George (died 1623); Andrew (Kincraig), John (Fearn, died 1626), Janet (married (1) David Monro, (2) Hector Munro of Foulis (died 1603)); Catherine (married George Munro of Obsdale), Euffem (married Hugh Munro of Balcony, Jean married Oliver Gordon of Ballone and six other daughters. Son George (died 1625) of Tarrell in 1610.
