Hector married, first, Catherine, second daughter of Sir Kenneth Mackenzie, VII. of Kintail, by his second wife, Agnes, second daughter of Hugh third Lord Lovat. This marriage formed a double alliance with the House of Kintail, as Hector's sister was the wife of Alexander Mackenzie, I. of Davochmaluag, second son of Sir Kenneth.
