[Alexander Munro] «i»born. Edinburgh, went to South Africa 1903, & to the Rand 1911; for several years in printing dept. of Rand Daily Mail & Sunday Times; vice-persident S. African Typographical Union; partner in printing firm Frier & Munro Ltd, 1924-31; sometime chairman Master Printers' Assoc.; secretary-organizer Associated Master Printers of Transvaal, 1931-40; past president Johannesburg Caledonian Secy; died. Johannesburg 1940, aged 73, survived by widow and 2 married daughters.
