George Monro (1821-1902) & Helen Duke; born Menmuir Forfarshire 22 July 1867; educated Brechin High School, Aberdeen Grammar School 1882-4; studied at University of Aberdeen (M.A.) & New College, Edinburgh; ordained Free Church Minister at Menmuir 1898 (succeeded father); married 1899 Margaret Cormack Smith; entered U.F.C. & later Church of Scotland, & was minister of South Church, Menmuir, & from 1930 of Lundie & Fowlis (retired circa1937), ; demitted 1938; Justice of the Peace; died at Springbank, Brechin, 8 March 49; son Reverend George Douglas (1907-)
