"Jack Pendleton Monroe, RAdm, USN(Ret.)
"Admiral Jack Pendleton Monroe, 101, died February 21, 2006 in Pensacola FL. Admiral Monroe was born in hopkinsville, KY on June 19, 1904. He served his country proudly and with distinction for 44 years in the US Navy, retiring as a Rear Admiral in 1966.
"He is survived by his loving wife Phyllis G. Monroe, of Pensacola; son, Col. Jack P. Monroe, Jr. (Pat), USMC (Ret.) of Virginia; daughter, Janet S. Marshall (Henry), of Maryland; two step-sons John C. Sandvig (Janis), of Minnesota and Cdr. Richard G. Sandvig (Lauren Hughes), USN (Ret.) of California; also seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
"Services and interment will be June 22, 2006. 12:45 p.m. Old Fort Myer Chapel and Arlington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Covenant Hospice, 5041 N. 12th Avenue, Pensacola, FL 32504."
