  Ref: Clan Munro files - Monroe, Ruby Lucille James was a general in the New York Home Militia during the American Civil War. His regiment guarded the capitol at Washington during the war. He died "in harness" and was buried in the National Cemetery in Washington. A life-like painting of him hung in the armory in New York City.
