- William is said to be the first child born in Michigan.
William's second wife was a cousin on his mother's side and his third wife was acousin on his father's side. He was honest and careful and of good habits, but he had very poor health. His daughter, Effie took care of him in his last few years. He was confined to his bed for nearly two years before his death and was very patient and good.
