Notes |
- Error alert: Anne Munro is said to be the daughter of John Munro, fourth Laird of Teanourd, and Catharine Bayne, his wife. Alexander Mackenzie lists no Laird of Teanourd named John in his "History of the Munros", and none of the listed Lairds was married to a Catharine Bayne. It is thought that the information given about Anne's ancestry is incorrect. Anne is reported to have been born about 1718 and her first child in 1730 when she was about 12 years old - also probably in error.
After the death of her husband, Anne lived at Drummond, about two miles from Fowlis. She was an amiable woman, highly educated, and beloved by all who knew her. A slight accident, which occurred a few years after her husband's death, unexpectedly proved fatal, and she died after a short illness, at the early age of thirty years, leaving two children, Henry, born in 1730, and Alexander, a year or two later.
