  ********** (The following is from "Descendants of John Munro" - by W. M. Roeser) «i»Ensign Harvey G. Monroe was killed in the crash of his plane into the ocean during a night bombing training run off the coast of Maine during World War II. He served in the U.S. Navy Air Corps from 1943 to 1944. When he first tried to enlist in 1942 at the age of 18, he was told by the recruiter that he was too light. He was told to eat bananas as often as possible to gain weight, and to come back. He did put on weight doing this and the second time he attempted to enlnist, he was taken into the U.S..
