  Francis worked for the Detroit and Milwaukee Railroad (later renamed the Grand Trunk Railroad) in the photographic department. ********** (The following is from "Descendants of John Munro" - by W.M. Roeser - Clan Munro files - Roeser, Waldomar Monroe) «i»Dr. Francis "Frank" Monroe graduated from the Philadelphia Dental College on 29 Feb 1884 in Dental Surgery, and practiced in Jamestown, New York. He invented a proprietary product, "Tooth Ache Fiber" (TAF). He also formed the "Monroe Doctoring Company" advocating formaline mouth wash for gum disease. In 1892 he started a cure for drunkeness, "Monroe's Improved Gold Cure Company" in Bemus Point, New York with a number of testamonials. A branch using his method was located at the York Inn Sanitarium in Marion, Indiana.
