Grandfather: Charles Warn Munro born 9/20/1847 Philadelphia ?
deceased 2/10/33 Plant City, Fl.
I know Charles Warn had a sister named Belle. Please note copy of Christmas Card issued by Clan Munro. Year unknown. This is signed by Belle B. Munro and a Bessie McLuelje or it coulg be Bessie M. Luelje. It occurs to me that they possibly were clan members, how else would they have had a Christmas Card?
I also am enclosing a copy of Charles Warn's marriage from the family bible. I would assume the information is correct, since it is in my aunt's handwriting and if anybody would be correct it would be Auntie.
The names of the person's who witnessed the marriage are
Julia Munro (Mother or Sister?)
M. T. Munro (Father or brother?)
Lucy Raiford (possibly a married Sister)
One of the stories I remember being told as a child was that Grandfather, Charles Warn, and his sister (I assume Belle) came to the South after the civil war to be teachers for the Negroes. Charles married Georgia Bilbro of Columbus, Georgia and to the best of my knowledge all their children were born in Columbus. Charles Warn engaged in the Fruit and Vegetable Business as a buyer and shipper in Columbus. Retired to Plant City, Florida, somewhere after 1900, purchased acreage, farmed some of the land and planted an orange grove of about twenty five acres. He died when I was about four and the only vivid memory I have is him sitting at the head of the table, eating English peas off the blade of his knife!
