Notes |
- Andrew was born in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania in 1817. Different references give different specific dates. Ref 4 says 17 Jul, ref 2 says 15 Jul, ref 3 says "15 or 18 Jul."
Family tradition says that he worked as a drover. In about 1840, he passed through the town of Moorefield, Ohio. He met a girl there and fell in love with her, so when he finished his job as a drover, he returned to Moorefield, married her and settled there. His brother, John, also moved to Moorefield at the same time and also married a local girl.
Andrew is found on the 1850 census listed as a plasterer with $300 in property living with his family in Moorefield.
He served in the military during the American Civil War.
Proof that Andrew was the son of Charles is not too strong. The Charles C. Munroe, III reference says Andrew was the brother of Charles instead of his son.
