Notes |
- Joshua's mother died shortly after he was born, so he was placed in the family of Mr. Andrew Buxton. He was educated in the higher branches of study at Uxbridge and elsewhere. He taught school in Brookfield and Spencer.
He moved south and became distinguished as a teacher in Maryland and Virginia. In 1867 he moved west and married. He settled in Plainwell, Michigan on a small farm where he became a fruit grower.
