    • Jane was the youngest daughter of Kenneth Mackenzie, Millbank, and granddaughter of Sir Alexander Mackenzie, Baronet of Gairloch.

      She was remarkable for her great sprightliness, personal beauty, vigorous intelligence, and for the lively interest which she always took in anything having to do with the Highlands and Highland families. She was an acknowledged authority on the genealogy of nearly all the leading familie in Ross-shire.

      She died in Edinburgh at the age of 91.
