      Obituary in the Detroit News, 24 Nov 1966:

      Dr. Munro dies at 96 in Jackson. Jackson, Nov.24--Jackson's oldest physician and surgeon, who practiced here more than 60 years, Dr. C. D. Munro, 06, died yesterday in Mercy Hospital.

      Dr. Munro was born on a farm near St. Thomas, Ontario. After earning a teacher's certificate, he taught school for tive years and then enrolled in the Detroit College of Medicine. He opened practice in Kinde, Michigan, and in 1900 went to London for postgraduate work. He started practice in Jackson in 1901.

      He served at Selfridge Field during World War I. He was honored by his profession in 1950 on his 80th birthday. He was recognized in 1947 as a member of the Michigan State Medical Society 50-year club.

      He is survived by a son, Dr. Nathan D. Munro, and four grandchildren. Services will be held at 11:30 am tomooorrow in the First Presbyterian Church.
