- Nathaniel was the son of James Grigsby.
Nathaniel's first wife was Elizabeth Butler. Some researchers think Elizabeth was the mother of the first four children who are here attributed to Nathaniel's second wife, Susannah Linton. It is known that Susannah helped raise these four children and that she was the mother of Mark and Enoch.
Nathaniel migrated to Bardstown, Kentucky.
Nathaniel's will was dated 13 May 1797 and recorded 1 Sep 1801.
