Notes |
- Thomas' will was dated 9 Mar 1772 (one reference says the will was dated 1778). It mentions his brothers Andrew and James. His sister, Martha, was left one bay mare and eight pounds to pay for a saddle. His sister Jane was left 40 shillings. The will was witnessed by his mother, Rachel Piper (step mother?). His estate was divided in 1778.
Error alert: Some references, including Guilford, have Catherine Hore married to Thomas [4652], or have Thomas listed as a son of William Monroe and Rachel Piper.
Guilford and ref 1 say they were married in Overwharton Parish, Stafford County, Virginia.
The William Monroe refererence says that Thomas was the son of John Monroe Jr. who died 1785 in Fairfax County, Virginia. The Monroe Johnson reference says Thomas was the son of William Monroe and Margaret Triplett, while most references say William and Margaret were Thomas' grandparents.
