- Dennis was born in Glasgow, Scotland, but moved to Kearny when he was about eleven years old.
In about 1972, he began work as a detective for the B.S.S. Security Agency in Jersey City. In about 1987, he was employed in the same capacity by L.N.C. Security Agency in North Arlington.
He was a member of the Irish American Club and the Scots-American Club of Kearny.
