      [Alexander Monro] «i»Eldest son of Prof. Alexander Monro (Tertius), was born 5 July 1803, Captain Rifle Brigade, 2nd Lt. Rifle Brigade 19 Aug, 1828; Lt. 5 July, 1833, suceeded. to Craiglockhart and Cockburn on father's death in 1859, sold the former (except mansion house) and died Clifton 22 January 1867, having married in 1846 Elizabeth Scott, without issue; suceeded. by brother James (1806-70).
